Settings

The following screenshot shows all available settings for a synchronisation. It's interactive, so you can click on individual settings to jump straight to their documentation.

Calendars

Here you can select which calendars should be synchronised. The source calendar is the calendar of which the events are copied from. The target calendar is the calendar of which the events are copied into.

Method

The synchronisation method defines how the events are copied, or how much data is kept.

Selecting Copy will keep the source event's data like title, description, location, etc. and shows it in the target calendar's event, too. If you prefer more privacy, you can select Redact instead. This will remove the title, description and location from the event in the target calendar.

Redacted Title

You can define a custom title for the redacted events. This will be used for all events that are synchronised into the target calendar.

The default is “Busy” to denote that you are busy during this block of time in the target calendar.

Keep Travel Time

Some events contain travel time information. You can choose to keep this information in the target calendar.

Start Synchronising

Start Date

You can choose to synchronise events starting from a specific date instead of the whole calendar. This can be helpful when older events are not relevant to the target calendar. For example, starting a project with a new client from the 1st of August it's not important to have events from July, June or earlier in the client organisation's calendar.

Days to Synchronise

The default is to synchronise all days of the week. You can adjust this to only cover a subset of days like Monday to Friday or any other combination of days.

Hours to Synchronise

Similar to the days to synchronise, you can adjust the hours to synchronise as well. Even when synchronising events in a redacted manner, by default it's still visible to the target calendar what times of the day you are busy outside working hours. Which might or might not be important to you.

Daily Hours

By selecting “Specific Hours” you can define a specific time range for the synchronisation. This setting can be used to not synchronise events outside working hours and only focus on the hours of the day that matters to you and the target calendar.

This shows a preview of what the events will look like in the target calendar.
